Mike joined the Charity Newsies in 1978. “My first memory of the Newsies was at the age of eight or nine when my Father would take me on paper drive day to all the gin mills (bars) in Fly Town (now known as Victorian Village and Harrison West neighborhoods) to collect money from the patrons.” Mike was always proud of his father’s commitment to the Charity Newsies’ mission and his service to the community.
During his tenure with Charity Newsies, Mike has served as Corner Assignment Committee Chair for 10 years and as a Buying Committee member for six years.
Having retired from the Columbus Dispatch after 43 ½ years of service to that company, Mike is committed to serving Franklin County youth and their families by building the future of Charity Newsies on the strength of the organization’s past and a vision for its future.
Mike and his wife Lauren have been married for 26 years. They have four adult children and one grandson.
